Bright Horizons to Open New Location at Wills Wharf

Armada Hoffler Properties and Beatty Development Group today announced that Bright Horizons Family Solutions has leased space at Wills Wharf, the mixed-use office/hotel building currently under construction at Harbor Point.

The child care and early education provider will lease 14,296 square feet on the building’s second floor, plus an additional 4,400 of outdoor space within close proximity that will include a waterfront playground. The outdoor space will be open to the public after Bright Horizons operating hours, weekends and holidays, providing an amenity that the current neighborhood does not currently have at its disposal. Bright Horizons will be able to accommodate up to 153 children ages six weeks through five years old and offers Back Up Care for ages six weeks through school age.

“When looking to grow within Baltimore, we wanted to find a space that was in line with our corporate mission to nurture each child’s unique qualities and potential, and collaborate with employers to build family-friendly workplaces,” said Teresa Nations, Director of Real Estate, Bright Horizons. “Opening a new center in an amazing waterfront project like Harbor Point will not only support us in that mission, but help us to elevate the entire Bright Horizons experience for our students, their families, and our staff.”

“From its earliest iterations, Harbor Point has always been intended to be a true neighborhood; a place that you can make a home and raise a family,” said Michael Beatty, President of Beatty Development Group, the master developer of Harbor Point. “Bright Horizons is a key piece to fulfilling the vision of an all-encompassing neighborhood that offers a full range of desirable amenities.”

Bright Horizons is the third tenant at Wills Wharf, joining previously announced coworking space provider WeWork and digital marketing firm Jellyfish. The 12-story, 330,000 square foot waterfront building will feature 236,000 square feet of class A office space, and a 156-room Canopy by Hilton hotel. Located along Baltimore’s scenic waterfront between Harbor East and historic Fell’s Point, Harbor Point is a 27-acre mixed-use project with a planned three million square feet of office, retail, residential and hotel uses, as well as 9.5 acres of open space.

JLL’s Antony Gross, Rob Freedman, and Peter Jackson represented Armada Hoffler Properties in the transaction; Colliers International’s Connor Faught represented Bright Horizons.
